At WS Barricade, we value different perspectives and invest in our people. In an effort to support these values, we have developed a rigorous 8-week training program.
The Traffic Control Supervisor Apprenticeship allows folks from many different industries to jump into a career in traffic control. Our apprenticeship provides the opportunity for a high-quality career pathway via paid work experience, classroom instruction and ultimately, the nationally accredited ATSSA certification. We are the first and only traffic control company to become a registered industry-vetted training program through Apprenticeship Colorado through the Colorado Department of Labor. This provides apprentices access to scholarships, ensures that you receive 144 hours of training each year you are in the apprenticeship and provides you a nationally recognized certification in addition to your ATSSA certification upon completion.

Meet a Few Graduates:
Hello, my name is Nova and I'm 22 years old. I’m extremely appreciative of the opportunity that WS Barricade has given me, and I want to take full advantage of it. I made mistakes in my past, but I am extremely thankful for the chance that I was given to show that I have changed, and I can be a positive member of both this company and society as a whole. I’ve learned so much in the apprenticeship program already. Most importantly I learned the value of safety and how to go about things in the proper manner to ensure safety for all. I’ve learned great teamwork skills, and I’ve learned positive leadership characteristics. The thing I enjoy most about working in traffic control is being a part of a team that is all about bettering the world in so many ways. I also enjoy helping keep people safe and returning them to their families at the end of the day. I look forward to continually keeping the sites safe and being part of a great team. " |
Before becoming a Traffic Control Supervisor, I bounced around from job to job, mostly cooking, and hated every minute of it. I have learned a lot about Traffic Control since joining the team 2 1/2 years ago, but my favorite things are lane shifts or roundabouts! I enjoy being outside for work and watching jobsites get completed. Being a trainer is fun—I get to watch the trainees come into this with no experience and then see them running sites. It is rewarding knowing that I had a hand in training them. I look forward to growing my knowledge in Traffic Control and learning as much as possible!" |
